Ford has unveiled the F-150 Tremor. An extra adventurous F-150 that only tolerates the Raptor above it.
By Dutch standards, a Ford F-150 is already a beast, but then you always have the F-150 Raptor. Even in the United States, some think that brutality goes a bit too far and Ford has a solution for that: the Tremor. That version was already available from the previous F-150 and the Ranger is also available as Tremor. Now it is time for the current F-150, which is secretly already in the fall of its career. As before, the Tremor is an F-150 that is dressed just a bit thicker than usual, without going very far. The redesigned dark grille and the black wheels that protrude an inch wider than usual are the most eye-catching details. The F-150 is also equipped with skid plates that must protect the vulnerable parts in the ground against rocks. It shares it with the F-150 Raptor.
Naturally, things like extra sturdy suspension and suspension, lockable differentials at the front and rear and dual shock absorbers make the Tremor easier to advance on rough terrain than less fortunate F-150s. If desired, an optional Torsen differential lock at the front ensures the best possible distribution of the forces. There are also many different driving modes to set to prepare the car as well as possible for different conditions. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that Ford scoops into multiple versions of the F-150 is also in the nose of the Tremor. You don’t have to expect the 450 horsepower that power source throws out of the Raptor. Ford does not yet report precise figures, count on about 375 hp of power that is transferred via a ten-speed automatic transmission. Provided you live in the US, because we don’t have to expect it here in the Netherlands. Unfortunately?
