Look, don’t buy

The Maverick is perhaps the nicest model from Ford that it delivers in the United States but not in the Netherlands. The compact pickup that shares its platform with the Ford Focus now meets an adventurous variant: the Tremor.
Car manufacturers have found a new segment in the United States: that of the compact pick-up without a ladder chassis and therefore simply with a self-supporting body. Hyundai came out with the Santa Cruz in 2021 and like that four-door open-body vehicle, the Ford Maverick is a car that shares its platform with a conventional passenger car. Under the Maverick is the C2 platform that you will find under the Focus and Kuga. Unlike the F-150 and the Ranger, there is no sporty Raptor version of the Maverick yet. Ford is now introducing the adventurous Maverick Tremor.

Ford Maverick Tremor
We already know the Tremor version from the F-150 and now Ford’s smallest American pick-up also has such a variant. The Maverick Tremor stands about 2.5 centimeters higher on its legs than a regular Maverick and gets, among other things, a modified front and modified rear suspension. The Maverick Tremor gets a special rear differential that is able – if the situation calls for it – to transfer all the power received by the rear axle to one wheel.
In addition, the Tremor variant gets Trail Control, a system that you may already know from the Bronco. With Trail Control, the Maverick can speed through the terrain at a speed of 31 km/h with the car accelerating and braking where necessary. Cruise control for off the beaten track. Under the hood of the Maverick Tremor is still a 253 hp and 375 Nm strong 2.0 Ecoboost four-cylinder. The American consumer can go for a full Tremor version, but also offers the Tremor Appearance Package, which makes the Maverick only optically more adventurous.
