Ford has already hinted that it will keep up with the pace of the nations by offering over-the-air updates. Today those plans are taking shape, with Tesla-like extras.
Of course, the whole idea of the over-the-air update is Tesla-esque. That brand is not the inventor of such an update over the internet, but can be held responsible for the large-scale adaptation of it by the car world.
Ford previously announced that it would join that trend, but now gives its update beast a name: Ford Power-Up. The electric Mustang Mach-E will of course be the first to experience this, but by 2028 there will be 33 million Fords worldwide with this capability.
‘at night
The Power-Up program provides updates that will in many cases be virtually invisible to customers, Ford reports. For larger updates, the customer is asked for a suitable time, so that the installation can take place at night, for example.
The next update for the Mustang Mach-E is striking. Ford gives its electrical pioneer a program called Ford Sketch, where it is possible to draw on the screen and play simple games. Where have we seen that before?
