Ford has announced the Dutch price of the Ranger chassis cab. This variant of the Ranger, for which you can choose a desired structure, is cheaper than the regular Ranger.
With the Ranger chassis cab, Ford is targeting companies and agencies operating in more difficult terrain, such as construction, forestry, rescue services and even the military. The chassis cab has the same 170 hp and 420 Nm strong 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel engine as the regular Ranger, but has a slightly lower starting price thanks to its bare construction. It is only available with a single cabin as an XL version, the utilitarian version of the Ranger, and costs a minimum of € 25,225 excluding VAT and bpm. It is also only available with a manual six-speed gearbox. How expensive the Ranger chassis cab is ultimately depends, of course, mainly on the type of superstructure. Ford has a network of conversion companies for this. The manufacturer’s warranty then also remains intact.
With adjustable four-wheel drive, low gearing and a wading depth of 800 mm, the Ranger should be able to hold its own off-road. The maximum permitted payload is 3,270 kg and the body may not be more than 2.5 meters long behind the cab. The Ranger chassis cab can tow a maximum of 3,500 kg. In terms of pricing, the Ranger’s chassis cab roughly coincides with the prices for the Transit Chassis, the other bare-body commercial vehicle that Ford offers in the Netherlands. This costs € 23,100 excluding VAT and bpm with a single cabin and € 25,600 with a double cabin.
