Ford Ranger sportingly dressed as MS-RT

The British rally team M-Sport has once again ventured into dressing a Ford where you do not just expect that approach. The result is this Ranger MS-RT.

The Ford affiliated M-Sport Ford World Rally Team is not only concerned with rallying, but also wants to prepare an extra sporty-looking version of street-legal Fords. It does not hesitate to go for a surprising candidate, as it showed almost three years ago with the Transit Custom MS-RT. This time it is the Ford Ranger that is full of sporty decoration from the British company.

You don’t have to look twice to see that the Ranger has been tinkered with. The front was largely overhauled and got a considerably sportier look thanks to a new front bumper and a different grille. The side screens were also widened and along the flanks you will find thicker sidekirts on the Ranger MS-RT where you would normally expect running boards. At the rear, an equally sporty bumper stands out and all details are sprayed into the body color. In terms of color, there is a choice of Frozen White, Sea Gray or Agate Black. Furthermore, the Ranger MS-RT is on special 20-inch alloy from OZ Racing. The MS-RT logos return in various places in the interior and you take a seat on leather seats with orange stitching.

This sportier-looking Ranger draws its power from a version of the 2.0 EcoBlue diesel engine, which has been left untouched by M-Sport, and which produces 213 hp and 500 Nm of torque. That is the block that also serves in the Raptor and Wildtrack version. The most powerful motorization that is on the order list here in the Netherlands. The power source is linked to a 10-speed automatic and with this self-igniter the Ranger is able to pull up to 3,500 kilos.

This summer, the Ranger MS-RT will come to British Ford dealers and in the run-up to that, it will also be known what it should cost. It is not yet known whether the MS-RT will also be available in the Netherlands. More than two years after the unveiling of the Transit Custom MS-RT, Ford brought it to the Netherlands, so never say never.
