On to March 21

Ford will eventually release two brand new electric models that use the MEB platform of the Volkswagen Group. Now we also know when the first will appear.
March 21 is the day that Ford pulls the curtain on a completely new electric SUV-like. Martin Sander – head of Ford’s electrical branch ‘Model e’ in Europe – posted a short teaser video on Twitter in which European chief designer Amko Leenarts shows a piece of the officially still nameless EV. In the short message, Sander reports that the car will be unveiled on March 21.

The name of Ford’s new SUV is not yet known.
This electric SUV from Ford is one of two models for which Ford uses the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform. You know that basis from cars such as the Volkswagen ID3, ID4, ID5, ID Buzz and sister models such as the Cupra Born and Skoda Enyaq iV. After the two MEB models, Ford ‘just’ comes with electric models on a self-developed basis. It is not yet known which model name Ford will put on its electric SUV, but don’t be surprised if it will be a reused one. From 2030, Ford will only sell electric passenger cars in Europe.
