24 races from late February to early December

Formula 1 presents the provisional calendar for 2024. It contains 24 races, one more than this year, because China finally hopes to be there again next year. The season starts early: on the weekend of February 29.
While the blown-over vans are being put right next to Circuit Zandvoort, Formula 1 presents the calendar for next year. Experience shows that Formula 1 sometimes tinkers with it after the presentation of the first calendar for the following year, but in any case it already gives a good picture of what the 2024 season will look like.
The season starts quite early, namely in the weekend from February 29 to March 2. Then, just like this year, the season opener will be in Bahrain. A week later it is already the turn of the GP of Saudi Arabia. It is striking that Japan is much earlier in the season than usual, which is already the fourth destination, just after Australia. Formula 1 wants to keep a logistically more logical schedule. After Japan, it is therefore time for the Chinese GP, if it can finally take place again this year. A handy travel schedule doesn’t seem to work out that much in May and June, because after China, Miami is on the schedule, followed by a few European destinations with suddenly Canada in between.
Just like this year, the GP of the Netherlands is the first after the summer break. It is also striking that the GP of Azerbaijan only takes place after the summer break, so it has in a sense been replaced with the GP of Japan. As we are used to, the year ends in Abu Dhabi. That is the beginning of December, so it will be not only a busy, but also a long season.
