Further tax cut

Refueling in France will probably soon be very cheap compared to the Netherlands. The French government plans to cut taxes further. A petrol price of €1.50 is therefore in sight.
You already lose less for a liter of petrol in France than in the Netherlands (an average of €1.96 compared to €2.27), but the difference will be even greater in September. At least, if Minister Bruno Le Maire’s plans go ahead. The French economy minister wants to increase the tax cut from 12 cents per liter to 30 cents. He does this in a helping hand to the Republicans, among others, reports TF1info. The discount of 30 cents must apply from September 1 to November 1.
A quick calculation shows that with an extra 18 cents you would currently arrive at an average petrol price of €1.78 in France. However, the French TotalEnergies takes another 20 cents off the price under pressure from the government and then you are suddenly at only €1.58 per liter. The price of petrol is already falling in the first place, so €1.50 per liter will suddenly become quite realistic at some gas stations in France in September. The Republicans (LR) already pleaded with Le Maire for a price reduction to €1.50 per liter and this seems to be the case. They seem to agree with Le Maire’s plans and there is a good chance that the plan will be adopted.
