Fiat and Abarth have a new chief designer. François Leboine will lead the design department of the two Stellantis brands and will ensure that the two brands are prepared for the future.
With the appointment of Leboine, Stellantis is taking a fairly important employee away from Renault. Leboine was responsible for the Renault Advanced Design design department, overseeing the design process for the new electric Renault 5 and the Morphoz, among other things. In addition, as head of exterior design, he was responsible for the Renault Clio and Captur and the Dacia Sandero. With that, Leboine has had a big say in some of the most popular Renault models.
Leboine starts June 1 as chief designer at Fiat and Abarth. Among other things, both brands still have a lot to beat when it comes to the introduction of electric models. The Fiat 500e is currently the only fully electric passenger car of the brand. Future models are expected to use Stellantis technology, so it is up to Leboine to design the whole in an attractive way. Oliver François, Fiat’s CEO, is pleased with Leboine’s appointment. “The strength and scale of the new group offers many opportunities. Designing new cars for Fiat and Abarth is key to showing our potential to customers around the world,” he says.
Recently Fiat presented a completely new crossover to the public. However, relatively little is known about this car, which also has no name yet.
