Create a blacklist of numbers to block so as not to be disturbed on the landline associated with your Freebox.
Direct sellers have more than one trick up their sleeve to thwart the filtering tools put in place by certain operators. If they previously operated from fixed line numbers starting with 09, they seem to adopt more and more mobile numbers starting with 06. And the lists of unwanted numbers managed by operators often do not take into account the numbers using these prefixes.
If you are a Free subscriber and you have already activated the options offered by the operator to block unwanted calls on the Freebox, you can add a string to your bow by creating a personalized blacklist of numbers to block.
Please note, however, that the activation and management of this blacklist does not go through the Free subscriber interface, but directly from the landline connected to your Freebox.
While waiting for Free to offer, one day perhaps, a dedicated interface (from the Freebox mobile application for example, which integrates the call log of your Freebox landline), find out how to activate and manage the filtering of incoming calls from the fixed handset connected to your Free line.
1. Activate incoming call screening
Few people seem to know about it, but Freebox landlines have a filtering function for incoming calls by blocking calls by prefixes or by number. Before you can use it, you will need to activate it.
To do this, take your handset in hand, enter * 351 # and press the button to pick up and initiate the call. A voicemail box should tell you ” The list of rejected incoming calls is activated “.
2. Add the number of the last caller to the blacklist
If you have just suffered the affront of a direct seller offering to send a technician to your home to check that your home is well insulated, you can easily block his number for any future calls.
To add the number of the last caller to the blacklist, grab your telephone handset, type * 351 * # and press the button to pick up the hook as if to initiate a call.
The service’s voicemail box should then tell you that ” The number of the last caller is stored in the list of rejected incoming calls “.
3. Add the number of your choice to the blacklist
If you have been able to note the number of a direct seller who does not let go and contacts you frequently, you can add his number directly to the blacklist. To do this, from your landline handset, type * 351 * followed by the correspondent’s number, then # and pick up the call. You should type a string of numbers and characters like * 351 * 06xxxxxxxx # before going off-hook.
The voicemail box will then tell you ” The number 06xxxxxxxx is stored in the list of rejected incoming calls “.
4. Disable the service and check its status
If, however, you wish to deactivate the service one day, all you have to do is from the landline phone connected to your Freebox to type # 35 # then to pick up. You can check whether the service is activated or not by entering * # 35 # and then picking up the phone.
