Due to a lack of agreement between Altice and Free, BFMTV, RMC Story and RMC Découverte are no longer broadcast on the Freebox. Discover the alternative solutions to continue enjoying the programs of the different channels.
That’s it. Free stopped broadcasting BFMTV, RMC Story and RMC Découverte on August 27, 2019. After several months of negotiations, Altice – owner of the channels – and Free, failed to find a financial agreement allowing Freebox subscribers to continue to receive the three channels.
However, should Free subscribers give up definitively on BFMTV, BFM Business, RMC Découverte and RMC Story? Not necessarily. There are, in fact, many alternatives that Free subscribers can adopt to continue enjoying the programs of these different channels.
1. Go through TNT
By going directly to TNT, Free subscribers will be able to continue to receive Altice group channels on their television sets. On condition of having a rake antenna on the roof of his house, or of a building in the case of a condominium, and of having a TNT decoder (all recent televisions are equipped with it, as well as the Freebox) , it is quite possible to receive BFMTV, RMC Découverte and RMC Story on your television.
All you have to do is connect your television to the aerial socket using a dedicated cable, then restart a complete channel scan to find your usual channels on your big screen.
2. Download Molotov
Another possibility is to install the Molotov application. Available on all platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, Android TV, iOS), Molotov allows you to watch TV on any screen using your Internet connection. You can thus install the application on your computer, but also on your smartphones and tablets, on connected televisions and Android TV Boxes, on Apple TV and can even broadcast the content on another screen by using a Google Chromecast.
The application is free, but requires the creation of an account to be used. Molotov allows you to watch all your usual channels, regardless of your equipment, even when traveling to another country within Europe. Molotov also offers a function allowing you to record the programs you watch, but also to subscribe to new (pay) channels on which exclusive programs are offered.

3. Download channel apps
Third possibility to continue watching BFMTV, BFM Business or RMC Découverte: go directly through the dedicated applications. Available on both iOS and Android, the BFMTV, BFM Business and RMC Découverte applications allow you to watch the live broadcast wherever you are. You will also be able to take advantage of Replays of the various channels, TV guides, and in the case of BFMTV and BFM Business, access to the latest news published on the channels’ websites.

Last possibility offered to continue watching the channels: go directly to the web browser. All these channels have a dedicated website where it is possible to access the live broadcast. You can therefore continue to watch these channels for free from your computer’s web browser.

5. Watch the channels from Dailymotion
Finally, the last possible alternative to continue watching the channels, go directly through Dailymotion. The channels of the Altice group each have their own page where certain programs are available in replay.
As for BFMTV and RMC Story, these two channels offer a live broadcast of their stream from the streaming platform. You can therefore find these three channels by going to Dailymotion from any web browser, or by using the Dailymotion mobile application.
