What’s stopping you?

The eccentric to say the least Dartz arrives in a roundabout way with a crazy and tiny electric convertible. Meet the Freze Froggy EV Beachstar, a little one that’s as crazy as its looks.
Rewind to early 2021. In February last year, it was announced that Latvia-based Dartz would be selling a small electric city car. Interestingly, a small-town EV is a long way from the opulent and whale-penis leather-loaded SUVs that the company is primarily known for. The cart would be called Nikrob EV and would be sold through a department of Dartz called FreZe. Dartz has taken the compact EV flavor and now comes with a harbinger of an electric open city car that is as crazy as it looks: the Froggy EV Beachstar.

The Nikrob EV shown last year was in fact not a real creation by FreZe or Dartz, but a slightly modified Huangguang Mini EV from the Chinese manufacturer Wuling. Wuling has recently started selling an open variant of this popular electric car: the Mini EV Cabriolet. That car has been modified by the Latvian company into Froggy EV Beachstar.
The Froggy EV Beachstar is a special appearance with its yellow-green carriage. Various body parts have been modified, including the rear fenders, the front lighting and the rear deck. The bumpers and wheels are also not as you may know from the original and FreZe and Dartz empty a bucket of green and yellow paint in the interior. The Froggy EV Beachstar isn’t just decked out like this. Dartz took inspiration for the design of the cart from two of his first converted cars: a raised yellow first-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK and a Volkswagen Beetle that for some reason is overloaded with design elements and a livery that gives the car a unique look. frog look.
The small convertible will in any case be called Froggy and will eventually come on the market in other color combinations. Dartz founder Leonard Yankelovich already mentions performance names such as Millenium, Millenium Adventure and Signature Edition in a striking press release. Yankelovich, who from our earlier conversation seems blessed with a special sense of humor, says, among other things, that the world is ready for a small, cheap extravagant electric roadster. According to Yankelovich, the car can travel up to 305 kilometers on an electric charge and he hooks up, among other things, with hotels and car rental companies to sell the FreZe Froggy.
