Full Dutch team competes in Porsche Supercup

The new Formula 1 season is about to start and that means that a new season of the Porsche Supercup is also approaching. Team GP Elite and Porsche importer Pon join forces and compete with a completely Dutch line-up.

The Porsche Supercup has been traveling for a large part of the Formula 1 season for many years. In the support program of the European Grands Prix, the 485-horsepower 911’s GT3 will compete on the same track as the Formula 1 cars. This year Team GP Elite and Pon Porsche Import will go for it together with three drivers.

Jesse van Kuijk and Max van Splunteren return to Team GP Elite, Larry ten Voorde makes the switch from MRS GT-Racing. Ten Voorde finished fourth in the championship last year and is an important asset to the team. Van Kuijk and Van Splunteren rode only part of the year and unfortunately did not finish in the points yet. In addition to the Super Cup championship, the team also competes in the Carrera Cup Benelux. Lucas Groeneveld, Daan and Jesse van Kuijk and again Max van Splunteren are the drivers.

The Supercup 911s are provided with an appropriate color scheme. The majority of the cars are in orange, so they are not to be missed by Dutch fans. At the renewed Circuit Zandvoort the cars for this year have already gone outside for a number of beautiful photos, but of course also to warm up for May. In the first weekend of May, the first GP since 1985 takes place at Zandvoort, where the Supercup season starts.

In the history of the Porsche Supercup twice a Dutchman became champion: Patrick Huisman took the title no less than four years in a row (from 1997 to 2000) and Jeroen Bleekemolen became champion in 2008 and 2009.
