Customize your Gmail account preferences to change the name displayed in the inbox of your correspondents when they receive your letters.
When you send an e-mail, your correspondent will see it appear in their inbox under the name you set when opening your account. If the name associated with your Gmail address is no longer suitable for you for one reason or another, it is entirely possible to change it. This will require you to go through the web browser of a computer. Here’s how to do it.
1. Go to Settings
Click the cogwheel icon at the top right of your inbox, then in the Quick Setup pane, choose Show all settings.
2. Modify your account information
Then go to the Accounts and Import tab. It is from the latter that you can modify the information associated with your Gmail address.
Among the many options available, locate the Send e-mail as: line and click on the edit information menu, displayed to the right of your e-mail address.
In the window that appears, the name associated with your e-mail address, which is displayed in the inbox of your correspondents is selected by default. Select the text field displayed below, and fill in the new name you want to be associated with your Gmail address.
Click on Save changes to validate the changes. From now on, every email you send will be notified to the recipient by the name you just entered.
