GMC Hummer SUV is coming soon

The Hummer, reborn as GMC, is currently only available as a pick-up. This will change very soon, because then the SUV version will also be unveiled.

In October, GMC heralded a new chapter for the acclaimed Hummer. The fully electric Hummer is clearly a tribute to the Hummers of yesteryear, but thanks to its powertrain is completely contemporary. Excessive driving and electric driving also go well together, as evidenced by the no less than 1,014 electric horsepower that the three engines generate together. Although the earlier Hummers were also supplied with an open loading platform, the Hummers with a bodywork closed to the rear are somewhat more famous. This will also be followed up in February, we may assume from the generally well-informed GM Authority. Then GMC pulls the curtain off the Hummer SUV.

That disclosure is not expected to cause many surprises anymore. After all, we (see the photo above) have already seen the car almost completely. This happened during a presentation in which GM revealed its electric future. As you can clearly see, we can simply expect the already presented GMC Hummer with a fully enclosed body.

Extreme E.

The upcoming SUV version is not the only news around the violent. The Extreme E team of Chip Ganassi Racing shows a first image of his racer. On it we see an extreme off-roader that clearly bears the image of the Hummer. That’s how it works: GMC and Chip Ganassi Racing are working together on the new Extreme E Championship. It is a multi-year sponsorship deal.

In Extreme E, teams compete in inhospitable areas with extreme, electric-powered off-road vehicles. The championship starts April 3 in Saudi Arabia and will then include Greenland and the very rugged Patagonia in Argentina. F1 world champions Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton have also created their own Extreme E team. Cupra is also participating, among others, together with ABT.
