GMC Sierra gets a facelift

Attention, Dutch pick-up friends: the GMC Sierra is getting a facelift. GMC shows the ‘truck’ with a new front in a dark picture, which secretly already shows a lot.

The GMC Sierra was launched in its current form in 2018. Three years later and for model year 2022, GMC is equipping the truck with a new front. As a whole, it is just a bit tighter and gets straighter headlights. The C-shape in the daytime running lights remains, but is stretched downwards to the lower edge of the still immense grille. Just like now, there is still a piece of sheet metal above that edge, because the actual headlight is smaller and is limited to the upper part of this area. The air intake directly under the hood is split and the hood itself also has a different profile.

GMC Sierra gets a facelift

The GMC Sierra in question is by the way the 1500 version, the least heavy of the Sierra series. The American pick-ups you see driving in the Netherlands are usually of this level, but GMC also supplies Heavy Duty variants with 2500 and 3500 classification. The GMC Sierra in all its variants is a twin brother of the Chevrolet Silverado and distinguishes itself above all with a different front and a slightly different positioning.

Although the Netherlands certainly has pick-up friends, the question is whether the GMC Sierra also has many fans here. Of all American pick-up trucks, we see this model least often in our regions. Still, it’s interesting to see what the Americans are up to with their bestsellers, because vehicles like this Sierra are invariably at the top of the sales rankings in the US.
