Google’s browser allows you to easily and permanently mute the sound of a website so that you are no longer disturbed.
If you can’t stand sites that emit sound without warning, Google’s browser for Windows and macOS has a feature that will come in handy. Indeed, it is now possible to deactivate the sound of a website and this choice remains valid, even if you return to the site or restart your browser. Here’s how to do it.
1 – Launch Chrome and go to the site you want to gag. Right click on its tab and select Mute the sound of the site from the drop-down list.

2 – To reactivate the sound, return to the site and right click on its tab. Select Reactivate site sound from the drop-down list.

3 – Chrome also gives access to sound settings by clicking on a small icon located to the right of the address bar when you are on a site where the sound has been muted. The parameters are also accessible by typing chrome: // settings / content / sound in the address bar.

It allows you to always activate the sound on a site, but also to see the saved settings by clicking on the button. To manage.

You then have the list of sites whose sound is muted, as well as that of sites whose sound is authorized. You can edit site addresses, delete them, authorize them, and add new sites to the lists.
