Google Contacts gets a handy new function that allows you to filter the results. The filters are similar to the similar filters in the Gmail app for Android and have limited availability in Contacts.

Google Contacts gets handy search filters

At the beginning of this year, the Google Contacts app received a complete Material You makeover and new navigation. Now there is a new update on the program that brings search filters to the app. We know these search filters from Gmail and make it a lot easier to find the right contact in the app.

In the screenshot below you can see the new filters just below the search bar. There are filters with people you’ve interacted with recently. This is useful in cases where you do not remember the name of a contact person. In addition, there is also a filter to search by company. Handy if you are looking for a person within a company whose name you do not remember.

Unfortunately, the editors do not yet see the new filters in the Contacts app. Maybe Google will test the feature among a small group of people to make it available to everyone later. Do you already see the search filters in the Contacts app? What do you think of these filters? Would you use them? Let us know in the comments.
