You can of course put the icons on your iPhone wherever you want, but there is a good reason to put them at the bottom right.
Icons at the bottom right of your iPhone
For a long time it was not possible to put the icons on your iPhone where you preferred them. They were simply ranked chronologically. All you could do yourself is to change one icon for the other.
Only with the arrival of iOS 18 last year did it become possible to see icons at your own discretion move. That is, you still have to deal with a fixed grid on which you secure the icons, but in which place of the grid you can determine since then. Most people use this freedom to adjust the spots of the icons to the background used. But there is a good reason to put them down at the bottom right.
In some cases also bottom left
That good reason has to do with the operation and accessibility of the icons. If you hold your iPhone with your right hand, you can easily reach all the icons when they are at the bottom right. And that works better than you might think. Place all the icons that you often use at the bottom right, spread over multiple screens and you can always go with one hand.
If you are left -handed, then of course you have nothing to put all the icons at the bottom right. In that case you just mirror everything and put the icons down in the bottom left, so that you can always access your left thumb.
If you usually always operate your iPhone with two hands, you may think that this tip is superfluous for you. Yet it happens with some regularity that you have only one hand free and then it is unexpectedly very handy!
