Google showed the Pixel 7 series completely unexpectedly at its I/O conference. We are now waiting for the official launch of these high-end smartphones and more information has now been leaked.
Launch of Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro
According to a ‘very good source’ by Jon Prosser of Front Page Tech pre-orders for the Pixel 7 series will begin on October 6. That will most likely be immediately after the press event that would take place on October 5. The phones should then be available in stores a week later, on October 13.
Given the history of Google’s announcements, this data seems plausible. Last year’s Pixel 6 series was announced on October 19 and was available to pre-order the same day. In addition to the Pixel 7 series, the Pixel Watch could also make an appearance at the same event. Google has already shown a teaser of that. Of course we hope to find out more about this mysterious tablet, but that is not certain.
Of course it remains a rumor and if the data is correct, Google’s planning can still throw a spanner in the works. Unfortunately, little is known about the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Recent rumors indicate that the phones will keep their 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN1 main camera and 12MP IMX381 wide-angle lens. In addition, the Pixel 7 would get an upgrade for the selfie camera, because it now works with the same 11 MP sensor as the Pro version.
