Google has announced that the search engine layout will change so that the most relevant information is pushed forward even more. In addition, Google also wants to help users with better search suggestions that appear as you type.
Search suggestions in Google
If you currently start typing a sentence in Google, you will already see different ways to complete your sentence in the search suggestions in Google. on his Search on event Google has announced that it will show even more suggestions to complete your search term. You will now see small snippets with relevant additions. For example, if you type: “Best cities in Mexico”, the snippets will show: “for family”, “to live”, “for vacation”, and so on. If you tap on such a snippet, your search will be completed and results will appear.
In addition, Google will also show more relevant information in the search bar that already appears as you type. Now take the name of a restaurant you want to look up. Immediately below the search bar you will see the review score, opening hours for today and the address. the same goes for other businesses and places.
New layout
Google also shows how the search results get a new look. It has been showing information cards for some time that give you an overview at a glance with all relevant data about your search term. Think of a description from Wikipedia, images and the location in Maps. Only then do the traditional search results appear.
Those information cards are now becoming more important, and Google will now split all relevant information into separate tiles so that they take up more space. According to Google, “it’s changing the way it displays search results to better reflect the ways people research different topics.” It is also noticeable that search results contain more images and Google wants to show related topics immediately below the results.
Google also announced that Multisearch will work in Dutch, which is a way that ken can search thanks to the combination of an image and text. All announced improvements should be visible in the search engine sometime in the coming months.
