Is your Android smartphone freezing? Do not panic. Try three things to get the phone working again.
1. Close all apps
Phone stuck? A specific app may be the cause. Solve the problem by closing the app completely. Sometimes it is not clear which app is crashing. Then close all apps just to be sure.
- Tap the Recents key (left key at the bottom of the device).
- An overview of all open apps opens. Tap on Close all or Close all.
2. Restart phone
If closing the apps doesn’t work, then something else is causing the crash. Restart the phone.
- Press and hold the power button for a second.
- Tap on Restart.
- Tap again Restart.
- If the phone is protected by a passcode, enter it and tap OK.
The phone will reboot.
3. Forced Restart
Sometimes restarting is not possible. The phone does not respond to touch or turn off. A forced restart can help.
- Press and hold the power button.
- Also press the volume down button.
- Press and hold the buttons until the manufacturer’s logo appears.
The phone will reboot.
