You can take a screenshot not only on an iPhone, iPad or Mac. Capturing a screenshot is also easy on the Apple Watch. In this short tip you will quickly learn how this works.
Take an Apple Watch screenshot
The smart watch from Apple offers all kinds of possibilities and that is mainly due to the compact screen that the Watch has. You can track your activity, measure heart rate, receive notifications from your iPhone, open special apps or use the Walkie-talkie function.
To record such things or share something with others, you can take a screenshot of your Apple Watch. To do this, you must first activate this option in the Watch app. You do this as follows.

- Go to the Watch app on your iPhone;
- Go to the ‘My Watch’ tab and then tap ‘General’;
- Scroll down and turn on the ‘Enable screenshots’ setting.
When this option is on, you can take a screenshot of the screen of your Apple Watch. Capturing a screenshot is very simple and is similar to how it works on an iPhone.
This is how you take a screenshot on your Apple Watch
- Simultaneously press and release the Digital Crown and the side button underneath with two fingers. You know that a screenshot is being taken when the screen of your watch lights up;
- Go to the Photos app on your iPhone to view the screenshot. These can be found in ‘Photos’ or in ‘Albums’ in the ‘Screen photos’ album.
Incidentally, taking a screenshot while you have activated a workout works slightly differently. When you use the Workout app and then press the Digital Crown and side button simultaneously, the workout is paused.
Your Watch does take a screenshot. To resume your workout, press both buttons again. Do you want more tips for your Apple Watch? Check them out below.
