Sometimes you take some photos that you would rather keep private. But how do you do that? With this app you can easily hide such photos on your iPhone!
Hide photos on your iPhone
Since iOS 16, your iPhone has had a way to hide your “sensitive” photos in the Photos app. They will then be placed in a ‘Hidden’ folder and are protected with Face ID (or Touch ID). Does anyone know your iPhone code? Or do they have access to your Face ID? Then they can still access the hidden photos on your iPhone, which is not very convenient.
That’s why there’s a better way to take photos you’d rather keep private and hide them really well. Then you do it with the app Calculator# Hide Photos Videos. This app pretends to be a kind of calculator and therefore does not arouse suspicion. But with a code there is a kind of second app hidden where you can store photos and more.
Set up app
When you open the app you have to choose what the app shows by default when you open it. In this overview, select the ‘Calculator’ option. Next you need to set the PIN code for the app. This may therefore be a different code than the unlock code of your iPhone. Type a code (of at least four digits) and end the series of numbers with a ‘%’. Repeat the code one more time and you can get started.
The app not only lets you hide your photos on your iPhone. It is also possible to save videos, documents and contacts, among other things. For example, to add a photo to the app, tap ‘Photos’. Then open one of the default folders (or create a new one). Tap the ‘Import’ icon at the bottom and choose ‘Gallery’. Select the photos you want to import. The app then asks whether the selected photos can be retrieved from iCloud. Then click on ‘Delete’.
If you leave the photos in iCloud, the photos you’ve hidden will still show up in your iPhone’s Photos app. Please note: even if you immediately delete the photos and move them to the app, deleted photos will remain in the ‘Recent’ folder under Photos for 30 days. So make sure you also empty that folder when you have added the photos to the app. You do this in the following way:
- Open the ‘Photos’ app;
- Tap ‘Albums’ and scroll down;
- Choose ‘Recently deleted’ and tap ‘Select’ at the top right;
- Tap the button with the three dots at the bottom and choose ‘Delete all’.
Now when you want to see the photos in the secret app, open the Calculator# app and type the code into the calculator. Then the hidden folders will immediately appear.
