X, Y and Z
Yesterday we were able to show you the brand new electric HiPhi Y. Now we know that the HiPhi X will go on sale in Europe and that the HiPhi Z is also coming this way.
Yes, another Chinese car manufacturer wants to try it in Europe. This time it’s Human Horizons, with its HiPhi brand. Earlier this week, it presented the HiPhi Y, a medium-sized SUV with special gull-wing doors. With this model, HiPhi is emphatically aiming its arrows at the European market. It doesn’t stop there, because big brother HiPhi X is also ready for the crossing. The HiPhi Z will follow later.
HiPhi X.
The HiPhi X is no stranger, because HiPhi presented the X for the home market more than two years ago. Now the Chinese have approval from the German inspection body TÜV to sell the HiPhi X to our eastern neighbours. We will then of course have to wait for further European market expansion. Just like the HiPhi Y, the HiPhi X is a strikingly designed SUV with very special rear doors. They are even more unusual than with the Y, because the lower part of the doors cut into two parts is a real suicide door. Above that, following a good example of the Tesla Model X, among others, are the gull-wing door parts.
We don’t call it the Tesla Model X for nothing, because the HiPhi X is clearly an answer to that SUV. What’s in a name. The HiPhi X has two 300 hp electric motors (front and rear) and is therefore four-wheel drive. That’s good for a 0-100 sprint that takes just 3.9 seconds. Not as fast as the Model X, but still fast. A 97-kWh battery pack gives the HiPhi X a CLTC driving range of 650 km, although that will be somewhat lower in the WLTP test. Even milder rear-wheel drive versions may follow in the long run.

As mentioned, the HiPhi Z will also follow. According to the Chinese, it will come later. It starts with the HiPhi X and then comes the Z. The HiPhi Y may only be the third to come this way. The HiPhi Z is a somewhat different story than its two brothers, because that is a pretty stretched GT. It also goes a step further than the X in terms of performance and technology, because it accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds and has a 120-kWh battery pack with which, according to the CLTC measurement, 705 km of driving range is possible. We expect more details about a possible HiPhi Z for the European market and the concrete plans of the manufacturer next week.
