Historic Milestone: 1 Million Triumphs Since Resurrection 1990

One million motorcycles in a span of 31 years is an impressive figure to say the least that they can definitely be proud of in Hinckley. We don’t think John Bloor would have suspected that in his wildest dreams when he bought the Triumph brand name in 1983, built a completely new factory in Hinckley and seven years later the first Triumph since the resurrection was a fact.

To mark this unprecedented milestone, the millionth Triumph, a Tiger 900 Rally Pro with a unique paint job, was unveiled outside Triumph’s headquarters in Hinckley and will be shown at the NEC motor show at the end of this year.

Nick Bloor, CEO Triumph:

“Everyone at Triumph is incredibly proud to have played a part in achieving such a momentous moment in the modern history of this iconic brand. In the 31 years since we relaunched Triumph in Cologne in 1990 with a new line of British motorcycles, we have shared so many great moments with our fans all over the world.

Successfully returning to the TT and entering the MotoGP arena with our Moto2 motorcycle partnership to support the largest global motorcycle event, the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, to name a few. Triumph’s success has always come from the passion and dedication we share with our riders.”

“While the past year has been challenging for all of us, this passion and dedication has propelled Triumph to even greater heights, including successfully entering new categories with the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660.”

“Triumph has continuously and significantly invested in our people, partners and in-house design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities over the past three decades to extend the reach and reputation of this iconic British brand. This investment in homegrown talent, both in the UK and around the world, coupled with the passion we share with our riders for delivering the complete and perfect motorcycle, has seen the brand grow ever stronger and the most successful year in the brand’s entire 120-year history.”

“In addition, we are determined to take the brand to even greater heights, and with the upcoming launch of our brand new Tiger 1200, new competition MX and Enduro motorcycles, plus our strategic partnership with Bajaj to create smaller capacity bikes , I am delighted to say that the future for Triumph and its fans around the world will be as exciting and rich as it has been for the past 30 years”

The millionth Triumph in the Hinckley era isn’t the only thing the British have to celebrate. Next year it will be 120 years since the brand was founded in 1902 and this will also be remembered appropriately.

The Hinckley era began in 1990 with an all-original line of motorcycles designed and built in a brand-new, state-of-the-art factory. In the three decades since, Triumph has built and sold more motorcycles than ever before in its history through an international network of more than 700 dealers in 57 countries.

Despite recent challenges, the passion for Triumph shared around the world by owners, riders, fans and dealers has made the past 12 months the most successful ever, with more than 75,000 registered bikes worldwide and a turnover of £650 million.

Today, Triumph operates across five manufacturing facilities, all managed and managed by its global headquarters in Hinckley, Leicestershire, where each Triumph is designed, prototyped and tested in Triumph’s center of design excellence.

The most recent addition to Hinckley’s impressive infrastructure is an all-new assembly plant, built to increase Triumph’s global manufacturing flexibility and complement its existing multi-million-pound paint shop and rapid prototyping facilities.

Triumph has 13 sales and marketing offices around the world, manufacturing and manufacturing facilities in Thailand, where the company has its own molding, injection molding, machining and assembly facilities, and factories in India and Brazil, which assemble bicycles destined for local markets. .

Opened in 2018, Triumph’s Factory Visitor Experience in Hinckley invites visitors to sample Triumph’s manufacturing expertise and showcase the iconic British company’s most significant collection of past and present motorcycles.

From January 2022, Triumph will be inviting fans from around the world to join the factory in celebrating the pure spirit of motorcycling through a series of stories, encounters and special events throughout the year.
