For flaxseed water, pour 250 milliliters of cold water over 1 teaspoon of flaxseed. Let the flaxseed water steep for about 20 minutes. Then strain and gargle with it.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar is also a proven home remedy for a sore throat. Dilute 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in 100 milliliters of warm water. Use the vinegar water three times a day.

Home remedies for a sore throat: warm potato wraps

  1. Cook two to four potatoes in a saucepan until tender, about 20 minutes.

  4. Fold the ends of the cloth over the potatoes and mash them gently.
  5. Let the potato wrap cool for a few minutes or you could burn yourself. Then use your hand to test whether the temperature is comfortable.
  6. Secure the potato wrap around your neck using a second cloth.

You can use the potato wrap for as long as you feel comfortable. However, you should take it off after about an hour. Rest for at least 15 more minutes after application.

Onion juice as a home remedy for a sore throat

Another classic home remedy for a sore throat is onion juice. How to prepare it:

  1. Peel and slice a large onion.
  2. Place the onion slices in a jar and add a tablespoon of sugar.
  3. Close the jar and let it steep overnight.
  4. Consume 1-2 tablespoons of the onion juice several times a day.
