Honda announces price of CL500 Scrambler and XL750 Transalp

After a few years of not really having had earth-shattering news, Honda has gone big for 2023 with three completely new models, one of which is basically an extension of an existing platform and two are part of a completely new platform.

To start with the first: the CL500 Scrambler is yet another model from the 500 platform, which started ten years ago with the CB500F, CB500X and CBR500R and has been continuously refreshed over the years and some years ago with the Rebel 500 was expanded.

With the latest addition to the 500 platform, Honda has now closed the gap in the Scrambler segment and hopes to win over motorcyclists looking for a light motorcycle that is at home in all markets, with cool looks from a bygone era.

The CL500 Scrambler will cost € 8,399 with us in the Netherlands, with our southern neighbors that is € 7,199, while in Luxembourg only € 6,949 has to be tapped.

Then that completely new 750 platform, which consists of two models in which Honda has restored old names: the Hornet and the Transalp. The CB750 Hornet and XL750 Transalp to be precise.

Unlike the Hornet, which is so similar in size to the CB500 that you’d think Honda squeezed the block from the CB750 into the body of that CB500, the XL750 has been rebuilt from the ground up.

In addition to a completely different design, the Transalp has a significantly longer wheelbase of 1/560 mm, a slightly less steep head angle of 27° and a slightly larger trail of 111 mm compared to the CB500X.

The biggest difference is in the spoked wheels in sizes 21″ front and 18″ rear and the significantly longer suspension travel of 190 mm front and rear, so that you can really go off the beaten track with the Transalp.

For the Transalp, therefore, some more icicles will have to be put on the table. For the Matte Ballistic Black Metallic and Matte Iridium Gray Metallic version, € 12,599.00 (€ 10,799 BE / € 10,499 LUX) must be put on the table, for the Ross White version even € 12,799 (€ 10,999 BE / € 10,649 LUX).
