Honda CBR600RR is back

It has been available in the rest of the world all this time, but after six years of absence, Honda has adapted the CBR600RR to European emissions requirements to breathe new life into the 600 supersport.

Honda CBR600RR is back

In terms of sales figures, we don’t think the figures from the heyday will ever be achieved again, but we don’t think that’s what Honda was aiming for. And to be honest, we don’t find that interesting at all, the fact that the CBR600RR is back again is just great news.

According to Honda, the 2024 CBR600RR has an engine that has been significantly improved compared to the previous version as it was still available in Europe, with a stated top power of 121 hp at 14,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 63 Nm at 11,500 rpm. That is admittedly less than its predecessor, but we have also seen the same with the Ninja ZX-6R.

In terms of electronics, Honda has done quite a bit, starting with the fact that it has a 6-axis IMU that controls just about everything: from cornering ABS to lean angle-dependent traction control, wheelie control and rear lift control. The traction control is adjustable to 9 levels, the CBR600RR also has 5 riding modes, ride-by-wire throttle control, Honda’s well-known electronic steering damper, a slip/assist clutch and an up/down quickshifter.

As far as the chassis is concerned, Honda has equipped the aluminum twin-spar frame at the front with a 41 mm Showa Big Piston upsdide down front fork and a Pro-Link Showa rear shock, which is of course fully adjustable. Oh yes, just like the Fireblade, Honda has provided winglets in the fairing, because where would we be today without wings.

Price and delivery time are not yet known.
