Honda Civic

Do you have special memories of the first Honda Civic? Then sit back and relax, because we will park a copy on your screen that will take you back in time in one fell swoop. The best part: it can be yours.

Every now and then a forty-something turns up that (as far as we know) has aged very nicely without restoration. For example, we recently had a 41-year-old Ford Taunus in this section and now we are putting forward this neat and now 45-year-old Honda Civic. If it had been restored, we would believe it too. Based on the photos of details such as the sills, the engine compartment and the bottom you would almost say so. After all, the Civic sometimes wanted to fall prey to the rust devil, but this copy seems to have laughed it off.

According to the provider, it has everything to do with how the Civic was treated by its previous owners. The previous owner owned the car for no less than 24 years and would have always parked it dry indoors. That can make a big difference. In addition, according to the five-digit odometer, the Civic has only 71,715 km of experience and it could well be that it has never really been around. The interior reinforces those suspicions, because that also makes a neat impression. If you had walked into a Honda showroom in the early 1980s, you could have found a young used Civic.

Honda Civic

You already notice; it’s hard not to get excited about this Civic. Are there any downsides? Well, it’s quite a modest Civic in terms of motorization (60PS 1.2) and equipment, but does that really matter? Oh yes, with an asking price of €7,990 it is also more expensive than it was new at the time, although that is very understandable as far as we are concerned. The question is whether the Civic is also worth it to you. Or rather, or the trip down memory lane that is worth it, because this time capsule on wheels undoubtedly ensures that.
