There is a small but interesting problem at Honda. Since the turn of the year, certain models of the brand are no longer able to display the correct year and the correct time, with all the consequences that entails. The problem also occurs in the Netherlands, but with a limited number of cars.
Honda owners certainly won’t stop and think about it, but due to its unique nature, the issue is worth mentioning. Shortly after the New Year turned out that some Honda models ‘think’ it’s 2002. The time would also not be displayed or not correctly displayed due to the problem. This means that the navigation is of course not able to predict a correct arrival time. The forums also mention screens that are automatically dimmed during the day, because the car imagines itself in the night. Speaking of unexpected side effects…
In the US, where there are infinitely more Hondas on the road than here, the problem is said to affect cars from 2004 to 2012. Honda Verhagen in Rotterdam confirms the symptoms described above, but from personal experience sticks to the years 2009 to 2011. The big Honda -dealer reports that this problem also occurs in the Netherlands, but on a small scale. It is caused by the GPS and therefore only occurs in cars with a built-in navigation system. Moreover, within those conditions and the years mentioned, the problem only occurs in some of the cars, Verhagen reports.
Honda Kneppers in Zoetermeer reports when asked that so far at most two customers have reported the problem. Both dealers do not have a solution at the moment, but say they are confident that Honda will come up with it in the short term.
