Lovers of wafer-thin and for the Dutch market totally irrelevant facelifts should sit down for it. The Honda N-Box is being marginally renewed and that is of course great for the enthusiast of kei-cars.
With its N models, Honda has a complete family of kei-cars peppered with retro details on the Japanese menu. The N-One presented in 2012 was given a completely new generation earlier this year. The N-Box, which strikingly has to do without retro design, was completely revised three years ago and so it is for those higher tall-boy kei-car still too early for a generation change. What do you do as a Honda? You perform a facelift on the model. A wafer-thin even.
Honda N-Box (2017-2020)
To be fair: we also had to keep the photos of the N-Box presented in 2017 next to those of the updated version to be able to see the differences. The N-Box gets a modified piece of plastic between its headlights and gets a lower grille equipped with a single louvre instead of two black louvers. The N-Box Custom, the tough version with its own nose, is also slightly adjusted. Here, however, the difference is slightly greater. For example, the grille has been completely renewed. The spur at the bottom now covers almost the entire width of the front. At the bottom of the nose we find a modified front bumper. In addition, the N-Box Custom’s license plate now moves to the center of the muzzle, according to Honda to emphasize the width of the front.
With both types, a 660 cc three-cylinder is responsible for the drive, which, according to the boulder legislation, may not deliver more than 64 hp. A CVT transmission is standard. The new N-One is also available with front-wheel and all-wheel drive.
