Honda has again announced a recall for the CMX1100 Rebel in Europe, this time due to a problem with the fuel adjustment at a great height. It is already the second recall this year for this model.
According to a notification via the European Safety Gate database, the system can fail at high altitudes with closed gas valve to correctly update the atmospheric pressure. As a result, the fuel supply is incorrectly arranged and a misfire is unjustly detected. The result: the Fail-Safe eliminates one cylinder, which leads to power loss and in the worst case the turning of the engine-with the risk of an accident.
The recall applies to several versions of the CMX1100 (including the A2P, A2R, AM, AN and D2 variants), produced in Japan and divided into several EU countries. The Recall has been reported in Belgium, but measures have also been taken in France. The recall number of Honda itself is 3PU.
The official effective date of the recall is 26 June 2025. Honda brings the engines back to the dealers to remedy the error free of charge.
For riders in the Netherlands and Belgium, this problem will not occur quickly: the hills in South Limburg and the Ardennes are just a bit too modest to get the rebel up there.
