Honda renews NT1100 for 225

Honda has given the NT1100 a major overhaul for the 2025 model year. In addition to sharpening the appearance, Honda has given the engine a big boost in power and torque in the midrange and improved the DCT semi-automatic gearbox.

Honda renews NT1100 for 225

We must honestly admit that we have never spotted it in the wild, but according to Honda, the NT1100, launched in 2022, takes first place in the touring category, which is said to be due to “a timeless combination of inspiring performance, engaging handling and comfort for long journeys, with a range of the latest technologies and a sleek take on classic tourer style.”

That was the 2022 model, for model year 2025 Honda has nevertheless given the NT1100 a major update (or to retain that number 1 position, depending on how you want to see it). Starting with the styling, which has been refined to deliver both a sharper silhouette and efficient aerodynamic performance.

The aesthetic changes are completed with dual headlights featuring unique new daytime running lights with subtly integrated turn signals for a highly refined frontal light signature – and improved visibility.

Then the block. Honda has internally refreshed the engine and speaks of an improved intake, exhaust and combustion path, which must have provided 7% more torque in the low and medium speed range, while maximum power has been retained. The efficiency of the engine provides a range of 400 km with a 20 liter fuel tank.

True to the ‘New Touring’ approach, both comfort and ease of use have been improved for 2025. The updated upper and lower wind deflectors work together for even better protection against wind and weather; a redesigned, longer front fender serves the same purpose.

The adjustable windshield can now be operated with one hand by the rider while seated, while the larger, redesigned seat offers greater comfort on long rides. The standard cases have also been redesigned and have a larger volume, so that each in turn can accommodate a full-face helmet.

Operation of the electronic driver assistance systems has now been improved with the addition of a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) for precise control of the Honda Selectable Torque Control (three levels), as well as Wheelie Control (three levels), Cornering ABS and Rear Lift Control. The IMU also functions in any driving mode, three of which are standard: ‘Urban’, ‘Rain’ and ‘Tour’. Individual adjustments of all parameters are also possible in ‘User mode’.

The touring experience is further enhanced by the new Showa Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment (Showa-EERA) suspension option. Offered in addition to the standard Showa suspension, the advanced Showa-EERA offers real-time damping optimization in all driving conditions, as well as the ability to adjust the rear suspension spring preload on the fly.

A final comfort improvement is the optimization of Honda’s six-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), which has been redeveloped to improve low-speed feel and is now linked to the IMU for intuitive cornering shifting.

Furthermore, the 2025 NT1100 has a 6.5″ TFT display with customizable layouts and smartphone connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; cruise control, updated heated grips, ACC and USB charging connections, auto-off turn signals, Emergency Stop Signals (ESS) and a center stand, but the current version already had that.

The 2025 NT1100 and NT1100 Electronic Suspension will be available in the colors • Matte Warm Ash Metallic, Gunmetal Black Metallic and Pearl Hawkseye Blue. Price and delivery time are not yet known.
