Honda sharpened Civic Type R

Honda has the Civic Type R up to the light and found a few small things that could be better. For 2020, the fastest Civic will receive better brakes and new, active safety systems.Honda presents the Civic Type R 2020 at the Tokyo Auto Salon. On the outside you only see the larger grille, which ensures better cooling of the engine. Also new is the color that you see in the photo, Boost Blue. Most changes can be found under the skin and should make the Civic Type R even sportier and more comfortable at the same time.

Honda has mainly made improvements to the wheel suspension. The renewed dampers provide more driving comfort and the modified front suspension for more steering feel. According to Honda, stiffer rear suspension materials result in more grip at the rear. The better brakes must work more efficiently, especially under heavy loads.

Honda installs a new poker in the interior, which has shorter switching paths and a new finish. The steering wheel is also new and now covered with Alcantara. The engine and exhaust noise can be amplified over the speakers in the updated Type R, the extent to which that happens is adjustable. The latest improvement is that Honda provides all Civic versions, and therefore also the Type R, with a package of active driver assistance systems with which the car can drive semi-autonomously.

The 2020 model of the Type R will be available soon. Whether the prices change is not yet known.
