Like many other brands, Honda sells models that are completely unknown here, far beyond the Dutch borders. One is the Avancier, a crossover that is about to be slightly modernized.
The Avancier is a crossover that originates from the Concept D, a study model with which Honda already gave a fairly production-ready preview in 2015 about the arrival of such a crossover with a relatively steeply sloping roofline. The 4.82 meter long Avancier is being built by the joint venture that Honda has in China with GAC. Remarkably, the car is also built by a second Honda partnership: Dongfeng-Honda. For convenience, the latter version is called UR-V and visually differs from the Avancier in detail only (photos 8 and 9). In this article the Avancier is in the spotlight, it is that car that goes subtly under the knife.
The optical adjustments do not seem to be very drastic. Honda gives the Avancier a new grille and a new bumper with new finish around the fog lamps. The rear lights are slightly flatter in shape and a different layout. On the motor level, the Chinese does not have to expect major changes either. The Avancier is currently available with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 193 hp. Higher on the list is a blown 2.0 that kicks it up to 272 hp.
