Honda shows vision for the future in Tokyo

During the Japan Mobility Show, Honda is going big: from electric motorcycles and mountain bikes to compact EVs, rockets and aircraft. The manufacturer shows that according to Honda, mobility literally knows no boundaries.

Honda shows vision for the future in Tokyo

With the motto “The Power of Dreams – How We Move You”, Honda shows that the brand is more than a manufacturer of motorcycles and cars. At the Japan Mobility Show (October 30 – November 9) in Tokyo, the Japanese unveiled an impressive line-up of firsts spanning land, sea, air and even space.

Super-N Prototype: small, electric and with ‘BOOST’

The eye-catcher of the stand is the Super-N Prototype, a compact EV that, according to Honda, should take the “pleasure of driving” to a new level. The car features an innovative BOOST mode that not only increases power, but also provides a simulated gearbox experience – complete with tactile shift points. Honda wants to bring back the driving experience of a classic sports car in a small electric city car.

The Super-N will be released in 2026 in Japan and select markets, including the United Kingdom. No introduction has yet been planned for the rest of Europe, but Honda is using the Super-N as a test balloon to gauge interest in compact EVs.

EV Outlier Concept: this is what the engine of 2030 will look like

On two wheels, Honda shows the EV Outlier Concept, a bold look at what motorcycles could look like around 2030. The freedom of electric propulsion allowed the design team to create an extremely low, dynamic shape with in-wheel motors in both the front and rear wheels. The result: a futuristic machine with an aggressive, almost organic look – more sci-fi than street bike, but still recognisably Honda.

In addition, the e-MTB Prototype also had its world premiere. This electric mountain bike, with a lightweight carbon frame and integrated support, promises the best of both worlds: the fun of a motorcycle and the sporting freedom of a mountain bike. The e-MTB will come to Europe in 2026 and should give a new dimension to the “joy of riding in nature”.

From rockets to airplanes

As if that wasn’t broad enough, Honda is also showing off its reusable rocket prototype – the same device that successfully performed a vertical take-off and landing test in Hokkaido in June 2025. The project emphasizes Honda’s ambition to apply technology from autonomous driving and aviation beyond Earth.

In addition to these showstoppers, Honda also presents the Acura RSX Prototype, a fully electric sports coupe with the new ASIMO OS operating system, as well as the Honda 0 Series concepts, including the 0 SUV ‘α’ (alpha) and the Prelude e:HEV.

Rounding out the line-up are Honda’s better-known mainstays: a range of production motorcycles, the HondaJet – the world’s best-selling light business jet – and the new BF350 V8 outboard, the first V8 in Honda’s maritime history.

“The heart of our dreams”

Honda CEO Toshihiro Mibe summarizes the philosophy:

“Honda has always put its heart and soul into realizing our own dreams and those of our customers. With this show we want to show how broad mobility can be – and how we continue to work towards a future where our products are the force that keeps people moving.”

From electric city car to rocket, from carbon e-MTB to jet plane: Honda’s stand in Tokyo clearly shows one thing – Big Red does not look at boundaries, but at possibilities.
