Honda paves the way for his very first full -fledged electric motorcycle: the Honda WN7. After unveiling the EV Fun Concept on EICMA last year, the production design was now officially launched, with name, specifications and order options.
It is two weeks since Honda officially announced her first electrically driven motorcycle, although the animal was not yet mentioned by its name. On the 2024 Eicma in Milan presented as the EV Fun Concept, Honda’s first EV motorcycle was intensively tested on European roads in the past year. In a short video, the EV Fun Concept was shown in the wild, with the message at the end that more info would follow on 16 September.
So of which deed. What do we know now? To begin with that it is called WN7, that stands for “Be the Wind”, Naked (N), and power class 7. The slim, futuristic design of the EICMA concept is retained, but now there is also concrete technology at: a water-cooled 18 kw electric motor, an actor of Koppel, a kwg, one kwg-kw, a kwg and a kwg-kwstar, and a kw. Couple, a kw. Couple, a kw. Couple, a KWG-Kwg-Kwg-Kwg-kw.
According to Honda, the performance is comparable to a 600cc engine, with a torque that is closer to a 1000cc engine. “Pure sensation without exhaust gases,” says Honda and that will undoubtedly be the case, but you will get much less far on a full battery than with that 600cc or 1000cc engine.
Charging is flexible: according to Honda, CCS2 rapidate technology brings the battery from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes, while home loading gives a full battery in less than three hours via a 6 kva wallbox. For beginners there will also be an A1 version, so that even more riders can make the switch to electric.
Honda says that the WN7 has been developed for pure driving experience: quiet, smooth, vibration-free and yet with the recognizable Honda qualities of balance, stability and driving pleasure. Equipped with a 5-inch TFT display, Honda RoadSync connectivity, specific EV menus and full-LED lighting, it must be familiar, but still totally different from an ICE motorcycle.
It is not yet known how much he has to cost. There is no word about the price throughout Europe, in contrast to the United Kingdom where the price has already been announced. There it is sold for £ 12,999 and that is exactly between the NT1100 (£ 12,799) and the Africa Twin (£ 13,399).
We suspect that the fact that the BPM is only € 200 for EV engines that the price will be around € 15,000 for EV engines.
Production start is planned for the end of 2025, with delivery to dealers from 2026. Pre-orders are already possible via Honda dealers; If you order before November 4, you will receive a free saddle bag.
