I would like to determine the hardness of the pond water at home myself with a product that I can get at the pharmacy, for example. I know there are special kits for this, but they don’t specify exactly how they work. I am an amateur chemist and I am very interested in how such a kit is put together.

Hi Peter,
This question has been asked before (by you). You can find the answer at this link:

question 2540 question 2540 />
The IHEV website has a very good search function to dig into the archive for questions already asked. If you search for ‘hardness’ you will get three questions about this subject.
Have fun with your pond!
