Start your computer faster by disabling the automatic execution of unnecessary programs when Windows opens.
When you install new software on your computer, it often happens that it includes a setting that allows it to run automatically when Windows starts up. If some applications ask you for permission, others on the other hand take the opportunity to say nothing and start discreetly when opening Windows.
This is for example the case of Cortana, Microsoft’s voice assistant which has just been updated and now benefits from its dedicated application. Here’s how to prevent a program from automatically running when Windows 10 starts.
1. Open Settings
Click on the Windows Start menu and go to the Settings of the operating system.

2. Modify the Applications settings
Once in the Windows settings panel, enter the menu dedicated to Applications.

In the left column, go to the Start menu.

The Startup Applications section groups together all the software and applications installed on your machine that automatically run when you open the operating system.
Disable each of the applications that you feel you don’t need when you start your machine. Your PC will get better for it and you will save precious time starting it.
