Blizz is a cross-platform application (mobile and desktop) available on iOS, Android, Mac and Windows that instantly brings together up to 300 people for a meeting. The application was developed by the German company TeamViewer, known worldwide for its famous remote assistance software.
TeamViewer is installed on more than a billion devices and lists more than 25 million devices connected to its platform at any time. This world leader in collaboration and digital networking software now offers a new solution dedicated to the videoconferencing market: Blizz.
This application designed to facilitate the organization of online meetings is intended mainly for SMEs and mid-size companies. It is also an excellent solution for individuals or freelancers who wish to conduct real-time meetings with participants all over the world.
With Blizz, it’s possible to share your screen or make a phone call with the promise of fully secure data. How does the Blizz app work? What are its main features? Answers in a few words!
Who can use Blizz? How to download the application?
Blizz is a multiplatform application available on computer, smartphone and tablet, compatible with most current operating systems. To date, Blizz supports all available versions of Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS.
As with any application, just go to the publisher’s website to download it. For smartphones and tablets, you will have to go to the App Store or the PlayStore to download the application that suits your smartphone.
Blizz offers a free version and several paid versions depending on your needs. The free version – Blizz Free – allows each user to invite up to 5 participants per meeting. Beyond that, it will be necessary to opt for a paid version which starts at 6 euros per month for the Core version.
How do I create a meeting on Blizz?
Unlike other competing apps, you don’t have to have a Blizz or TeamViewer account to create or join an online meeting. Starting or joining a meeting can be done instantly via the web interface or via the desktop application without the need to register. Be careful, however: it is not possible to create a new meeting via the mobile application!
When you start a meeting, you have three choices: share screen, video call, or call. You must select the type of meeting that suits you best and then have a meeting ID – meeting ID – which you will need to pass on to other participants so that they can join you.

How do I join a meeting on Blizz?
With Blizz, it is possible to join a meeting from any device – computer, tablet or smartphone – by launching the dedicated application or by connecting to the publisher’s online space. As with the creation of a new meeting, it is not necessary to have a Blizz or TeamViewer user account to be able to join a meeting. However, participants must necessarily obtain the meeting ID from the creator of the meeting. This meeting ID can be sent by message to interested parties, the creator can also invite his contacts present on Blizz to join his meeting.

How do meeting IDs work?
The Meeting ID is the “cornerstone” of the Blizz app. This is a unique identifier composed of 9 characters which aims to register your meetings. This identifier will be essential for you to invite participants to your meeting. On Blizz, there are two main types of meeting IDs: those that follow a registration and those that are ephemeral.
If you decide to open an account on Blizz, you will receive a unique and personal Meeting ID. This identifier will be used automatically by the application for all the meetings that you will have to organize. On the contrary, if you do not wish to register on Blizz, your ID will be ephemeral, that is to say that you will not be able to use it for a meeting other than the one for which you created it.
However, in the case of scheduled meetings, each scheduled meeting will use its own ID, even if the meeting creator turns out to be the same person and has signed in with their own credentials.
What are the two main features of Blizz?
First interesting feature: sharing your screen. All participants in your meeting can share their screen with all other users. So you can present from your Windows PC or Mac or collaborate on documents with other people on any PC, Mac, Android or iOS mobile device. You can show your entire screen or select the software and applications you want to show to participants.
Another very useful feature is file sharing. With Blizz, it is possible to send and share files with all the participants of the same meeting. The “file zone” is based on the principle of drag and drop, so all you have to do is drag the files that you want to transmit to the other participants. It is also possible to preview the files and download them completely to your computer. Be careful, however: files uploaded as part of a meeting are not accessible via the Blizz application on a smartphone.

How is the Blizz app secured?
Data security is a point on which the TeamViewer teams have always been particularly vigilant. Thus, all connections established with Blizz are subject to full encryption – same standards as the https / SSL protocols – which is based on the exchange of 2048-bit RSA private / public key with 256-bit AES session encoding. These encryption methods are used by government or financial institutions and are considered very secure by cryptographers and network engineers.
Likewise, if you wish to log into your Blizz account via a device other than the one you normally use, a verification and validation email will be sent to you. You will need to click on the link sent by email to validate your device before you can connect.
Note that the Blizz application complies with the new European regulation – General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR – which aims to better protect the personal data of European users as well as their privacy. Blizz is particularly committed to ensuring that data is at all times and in all places secure against the risks of loss, theft or disclosure. Blizz also undertakes to warn its users as soon as possible in the event of a “leak” or an attack likely to endanger their personal data.
