1000 Bfrs. from anno 1903 , what could that have as counter value ??

Is there a site where you can make comparisons there? IS there a ” general rule that can say …… 1000 old bfr would now be X as much in the year

The FPS economy provides inflation figures from the year 1952: http://economie.fgov.be/nl/statistieken/nummers/economie/consumptieprijs/consumptieprijsindexen/inflation/index.jsp . In an Excel sheet you can then easily calculate that 1000 francs in 1952 was worth 7037 francs at the beginning of this year. That is a sevenfold increase in 60 years. If the inflation rate had been more or less the same in the previous 50 years (but I honestly think the inflation rate was a lot higher then, given the world wars, etc.), then we would end up with 41,000 francs. If you had the full figures, it might be closer to 50,000 francs, or 1,250 euros.

Now I would like to point out that the rise in land prices does not reflect the inflation figures at all. I am not aware of the rise in agricultural land prices, but as far as building land is concerned, prices are rising many times faster than inflation.

Kind regards
