While iOS 13 will have an option to use a dark interface, it is already possible on iOS 12 to take advantage of Dark Mode.
Apple unveiled during its developer conference, the WWDC, the new features of iOS 13 which should animate the iPhone by September.
Among them, a dark theme, which will particularly benefit devices incorporating an OLED screen. But for those who would like to enjoy such a feature on their device right now, iOS 12 offers a smart color inversion option that achieves a darkened interface except for images and media.
1. Access accessibility options
To activate a dark theme on iOS 12, you will need to go to the device’s accessibility options.
To do this, open Settings, go to General, and enter the Accessibility menu.

2. Invert the colors
Now go to the Adapt display menu, enter the Invert Colors section, and activate the Smart Invert function.

IOS’s interface should instantly darken, with modified accent colors. However, photos and videos should not be affected by this change.

3. Set up a shortcut
If you don’t want to constantly use the smart color inversion that iOS 12 offers, you can set up a shortcut to turn it on or off on the fly.
To do this, open Settings, then in General, go to Accessibility options.

Scroll through all the options to access the Accessibility shortcut menu at the bottom of the page. Select Smart color inversion, and close Settings.

Now, a triple press of the Home button or the side button (for iPhone without Touch ID) will suffice to quickly activate / deactivate the dark interface.
