Set up the Windows dynamic locking system to lock your session whenever you step away from your computer.
Leaving your computer for a few moments forgetting to lock your session can sometimes have surprises. For example, to prevent your colleagues from playing a joke on you when you move away from your PC, it is possible to configure a native Windows option that will lock your session as soon as you physically move away from your machine.
This option is dynamic locking. Thanks to it, Windows relies on devices paired with your PC via Bluetooth, such as your smartphone, to determine whether you are in front of your screen. Otherwise, when your mobile device is no longer detected by your PC, Windows can automatically lock your machine.

1. Connect your smartphone to your PC
If you haven’t already, connect your smartphone via Bluetooth to your PC.
To do this, on iOS, open Settings, enter the Bluetooth menu and activate the connection if it is not already so that your iPhone is discoverable.

On Android, open Settings, go to the Connected devices menu and tap Pair device.

From your PC, click on the Start menu and go to Windows Settings. Enter the section dedicated to Devices, activate Bluetooth, and click Add a Bluetooth device.

Your smartphone should be visible to Windows, click on it to initiate the connection. Check that the code displayed on your PC screen matches the one displayed on your smartphone screen and confirm the connection by clicking Connect. Do the same on the smartphone by pressing the Associate button to validate the connection.

2. Activate dynamic locking
Now that your smartphone and your computer are connected via Bluetooth, you must activate dynamic locking on your machine. Go to Windows Settings for this.
Go to the Accounts menu, then enter the Connection options section from the left column. Then check the Allow Windows to automatically lock your device when you are away option in the Dynamic locking section. Windows should automatically display the name of the smartphone that will be used to lock your machine when it moves away from it.

3. Move away from your PC
Now move away from your computer, keeping your smartphone with you. When your device is out of the Bluetooth range of your computer, your session will be locked after about a minute. Be careful, however, depending on the devices you use, the range of Bluetooth can be more or less important.
