Configure your mailbox so that emails received in another language are automatically translated.
Do you have a bit of trouble with foreign languages? If you are using the web version of Outlook, Microsoft Mail, emails you receive in another language may be translated automatically to your inbox.
An option, available in the messaging settings, allows you to translate automatically, or on demand, the e-mails received in another idiom. The feature is available to all Outlook users, and does not require that you have a Microsoft 365 subscription.
1. Open Settings
Log in to your Outlook inbox and access your Outlook inbox settings by clicking on the cogwheel icon at the top right of the blue ribbon.
Go to Outlook.com (Free)

Then choose to Show all Outlook settings to access all the available options.
2. Activate the translation
Enter the Mail menu, then in Mail management, navigate to the options concerning Translation.
There are two options: Always translate, and Ask me before translating. If you choose the former, messages arriving in the language to be translated will be automatically translated.
On the other hand, if you opt for the second option, messages received in another language should display at the top of the e-mail, the option to translate said message.

By default, French is automatically selected by Outlook webmail for the translation of messages.
If you are lucky enough to be fluent in one or more languages and feel that you do not need a translation for them, you can select them from the Do not translate the following languages drop-down menu so that messages sent in these languages will not be translated. are not translated by the messaging.
3. Use the translation
Regardless of the options configured in the previous step, Outlook will always give you a choice.

If you have opted for machine translation, the messaging platform should display a View original message menu to allow you to view the received email in its original language.
Likewise if you opted for the Ask me before translating option, a Translate message to menu should appear at the top of each email received in another language.
