How to convert a PDF file

How to convert a PDF file

If you don’t subscribe to Adobe, it’s difficult to directly edit a PDF file. Especially if you don’t want to download a special program for this. You can convert a PDF file to, for example, a Word file, which makes it a lot easier to edit a document. How do you do that? We explain it for you.

By default, you probably open PDF files in your browser or in the Adobe Acrobat Reader. You do not have to take out a subscription for both options, but if you want to edit documents, you have to open your wallet. For example, you need to take out an Adobe Acrobat Pro subscription of approximately 18 euros per month. That’s a pretty high amount, especially if you only want to edit PDFs occasionally.

Converting a PDF to Word document is then a better option. You can then edit the document in Word. You can convert a PDF within the Acrobat Reader, but for this you also need a subscription, of approximately 2 euros per month.

You’ll also see a warning: The document may not look exactly like the original file, especially if the original PDF contains many images. And in this area you see the big difference with Acrobat Reader. The Adobe tool can transfer everything neatly. If you think that’s important, you can still consider taking out a subscription with Adobe that only allows you to export PDFs.

Incidentally, Adobe recently also offers a browser plug-in with PDF editing options. Then you don’t have to convert anything. You can edit PDFs in your browser with this plug-in.
