
The social network has deployed a new feature to create an avatar in your image. Find out how to create your own now.
You have probably not escaped it. In recent weeks, more and more users have seen avatars appearing on their Facebook news feed in the image of their contacts.
Just two years after being unearthed in the code of iOS and Android applications, Facebook avatars are available and allow users to create a character in their likeness, which they can use as a profile picture, but also in stories. , to comment on publications or react in Messenger. If you don’t have your own yet, you can create it now in a few simple steps.
1. Open the main menu
Launch the Facebook app on your smartphone and go to the main menu (hamburger). Then press See more to deploy the options and enter the menu dedicated to Avatars.

Then tap Next and then the Start button.

2. Select your skin color
The first element to select to create your avatar concerns the color of your skin. Select the one that suits you best and press the Next button.

3. Personalize your avatar
Facebook then offers to customize your avatar by choosing your hairstyle. You can then choose their color by dragging the toolbar displayed in the center of the screen.

You can then modify the shape of the face, choose your complexion, your wrinkles, the shape and the color of your eyes, by personalizing your eyebrows, add a pair of glasses if you wear them, modify the shape of your nose, mouth, add your facial hair, personalize your figure and your clothes, etc.

You can check live if your avatar looks like you, without having to stand in front of a mirror by pressing the mirror icon. This will activate the front camera of your smartphone so that you can admire yourself in a selfie. Once your personalization is complete, press the Finish button.

Your avatar should then be generated by Facebook, which displays a quick preview. Press the Next button and then Finish.

4. Use your avatar
Before starting to use your avatar, it is possible to preview the stickers with your effigy that have been generated. On the view page of your avatar, press the button with a sticker.

If you want, you can also share your avatar on your news feed or set it as a temporary profile picture. To do this, press the arrow displayed at the top right. You can then react to the publications displayed on your feed by adding from the comments, one or more avatar stickers.
While this is not yet the case at the time of this writing, these stickers should also be accessible from Facebook Messenger.
