Find out if Facebook and Messenger have imported your contacts, delete them, and turn off automatic synchronization of your address book in these two apps.
In recent months, Facebook has been criticized several times for its amateurism in the management of personal data of these users. Mark Zuckerberg’s social network continues to scandals and does not seem to be able to learn from its own mistakes.
A few months ago, Messenger urged its users to synchronize their contacts. Even worse, we recently learned that the address books of 1.5 million Facebook users had been unwittingly sucked by the social network.
If the management and use of this data is worrying, it is possible to check in a few seconds whether Facebook has imported the contacts from your address book, and to delete them from the social network if so.
1. Go to Settings and privacy
Open the Facebook application on your smartphone, press the button to access the main menu and tap Settings and privacy then Settings.

2. Access Your Facebook information
Scroll down to the Your Facebook Info section. Tap Access your information.

3. View Information About You
In the new window that appears, scroll down to the Information about you section, and tap About you. Then enter the Your address books menu.

4. Delete the contacts imported into Facebook and Messenger
At the bottom of the page, the Contacts tab displays the list of contacts imported by Facebook. If contacts have been imported, tap the Delete All Contacts button to delete them.
Then tap on the very discreet View the contacts you’ve imported into Messenger menu. If contacts have been imported, tap the Delete All Contacts button to delete them.
Deleting contacts can also be done directly from the Messenger application by going to Settings (a click on the profile picture)> Contacts> Manage contacts.
