Microsoft and Apple operating systems are living with the times and obviously have many emoticons to insert into your messages and documents.
Want to put a little cheerfulness in your messages, to punctuate them other than with punctuation? Emojis are made for that and are easy to use on Windows and macOS, provided you know the little manipulation to follow.
Windows 10
On a PC running the latest version of Microsoft’s OS, when typing text, use the keystroke Windows and; (hold down the Windows key and press the semicolon key).
A window then appears with a wide choice of emoticons, classified by category. A search function is also available at the bottom of the window. Click on the drawing that interests you to insert it.

The other solution is to use the virtual keyboard. Right-click in the taskbar and select the option Show touch keyboard button.

An icon representing a keyboard then appears in the taskbar. Click on it, then click on the keyboard key with a smiling face.

You then access the different emoticons.
macOS
On Macs, you can insert emojis using the key sequence

A panel then appears with emoticons. Click on the icon at the top right to enlarge it.

You then have access to a more detailed display to make your choice.
