There are a thousand and one reasons for wanting to extract an APK file from an application already installed on your smartphone or tablet. The handling, very simple, requires the installation of a third-party application which will automate the extraction and generate an APK file ready to be installed.
1. Download APK Extractor
From your Android smartphone or tablet, download and install APK Extractor. This free app allows you to explore your Android app library and extract installation files in APK format in seconds.

2. Identify the backup directory
Open APK Extractor, unfold the main menu by tapping on the three little dots at the top right and enter the Settings of the app. The path to the backup directory, named ExtractedApks, is displayed at the top of the list.
Carefully keep the path to the location to easily find the extracted APKs.

3. Launch the extraction of an APK file
Return to the APK Extractor home window. Scroll through the list of apps until you find the one you want to back up. Tap the app to extract to start the process.

4. Find the APK
Connect your smartphone to a computer and choose the file transfer mode. Open your computer’s file explorer, browse your device’s memory, and find the ExtractedApks directory to access the extracted APKs.

You just have to save or transfer your APK files to another device to be able to reinstall them.
